The 5-Step Content Process Every Landscaper Should Use

Research, Script, Film, Edit, Distribute. The 5-step framework landscape companies can use to ship content without overthinking it.
I tried filming and posting one video a day for 30 days using nothing but my phone. The output beat every "professional" content sprint I'd ever run. The reason it worked is that I followed five steps in the same order every time — and never let myself add a sixth.
The 5-step content process
- Research — what does a homeowner in your market actually want to know?
- Script — write the hook, the one main point, and the call to action. Done.
- Film — phone, vertical, on the job site if possible.
- Edit — Instagram Edits or CapCut. Trim silences, add a text hook, ship.
- Distribute — post to Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
What you don't need
- A production team
- A studio
- An editor (yet)
- Cinematic gear
What you need: a phone, a topic, and the discipline to hit post.
Most landscapers overcomplicate content because they think every video has to be polished. It doesn't.
The bottleneck is always step 5
Most landscape owners get all the way to "edit" and then sit on the video for two weeks. Don't. Speed to post matters more than polish in the first 90 days. Build the muscle. Refine later.
